Local networks for organisations that provide social care for people with disabilities or other support needs in nine Scottish local authority areas: Aberdeenshire, Angus, Highland, Moray, Perth & Kinross, Dundee, Fife, Scottish Borders, Dumfries & Galloway.
Throughout the pandemic we have been holding regular meetings with the local forums for social care providers that we facilitate. Over 40 meetings have been held so far with those in front line management / leadership positions from voluntary, statutory and independent sectors, across 8 local authority areas. Meetings have focused on sharing learning and experiences, and opportunities for this to inform longer term changes in how adult social care is planned and delivered.
Our report here summarises the learning generated so far: ARC Scotland Provider Forums learning report (pdf). The report identifies observations and opportunities for change that you may find interesting – and perhaps unexpected. Watch this space for the results of a major survey of social care staff about how learning from lockdown can help shape the longer term future of social care in Scotland.
At ARC we continue to use learning from across Scotland to ensure that issues and solutions are foregrounded at both local and national level, and remain fully committed to continuing to support organisations at the frontline of essential support at this time.
