The Dundee Involvement Network gives people who get support in Dundee a chance to share ideas and experiences about being involved in things that matter to them.
Meetings are held every 8 weeks, in Dundee, and members discuss ways of putting the Charter for Involvement into practice.
Training to increase personal skills is also provided, and with some recently awarded Big Lottery funding members will be supported to take part in decision making in Dundee and Tayside areas.
Hello and Welcome
My name is Darren Fyfe. I am chairperson of the Dundee Involvement Network. I really enjoy being involved in Charter work. I feel that this has helped me speak up for myself and has given me lots of confidence and made me a stronger person. I want to help other people to be more confident in speaking up for themselves.
Hi I’m Robin.
We are helping the Dundee Involvement Network to make sure they are listened to and respected.
We are a group of people from across Dundee who get additional support. We meet up every 8 weeks.
At meetings we talk about how we have been using the Charter for Involvement and what we think should happen next.
We are part of the National Involvement Network.
“We want to be involved in Speaking up Groups”
What we do
We raise awareness of the Charter for Involvement and promote inclusion of people who get additional support. We give each other mutual support and learn from each other. We also review local and national policies and make recommendations. Some of us get involved in campaigning and some of us have delivered training and given presentations on the Charter for Involvement. Sometimes organisations ask us for advice.
How can I get involved
Anyone with additional support needs can join Dundee Involvement Network. You can phone or email Catherine or Rod for more information. You can ask whoever gives you support to contact Catherine or Rod.
While we can’t meet in person, Dundee Involvement Network are currently holding meetings on Zoom. These meetings are usually every 4 weeks. Robin shares the zoom meeting links and agendas for these meetings by email.
If you are interested in attending these online meetings please get in touch with Robin.
